The Florida Chapter, American College of Surgeons, Launches Strategic Collaboration to Advance Surgical Learning

To provide surgeon members access to best-in-class digital education resources, the Florida Chapter, American College of Surgeons (FCACS), is formally collaborating with C-SATS, part of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, to help support surgeons in their surgical learning journey and enhance their proficiency.

C-SATS is a cloud-based surgical learning platform that provides surgeons access to 13,000+ vetted procedure videos with case insights across various specialties and an exclusive surgeon community for peer-to-peer interaction. At its most basic level, C-SATS offers an industry leading platform for video-based surgical learning for surgeons of all career levels.

Dr. Jay Redan, Chief of Surgery at AdventHealth Celebration and also President and Governor for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons shared the following, “Recognizing that COVID-19 has accelerated the demand for digital solutions to support surgical learning and quality, at all levels, I am thrilled that we have entered this collaboration with C-SATS. Through this platform, we can provide our members with access to a trusted, select and secure digital community through which to continue their pursuit of surgical excellence. It serves as a natural complement of the FCACS mission ‘to advance the care of surgical patients and safeguard standards of surgical care,’ inspiring quality throughout the surgical community in Florida.”

Dave Herrmann, Global Head of Johnson & Johnson Digital Solutions and CEO of C-SATS, views the Florida chapter’s pioneering efforts as setting a new standard in industry and society collaboration. “We are thrilled to partner with the Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons in their quest to deliver high quality digital education resources to their members. It is critical, now more than ever, that the medical community comes together to develop innovative collaborations that support surgeons of all levels, as they seek to deliver best-in-class surgical care to their patients. We look forward to this continued journey with the Florida chapter and the broader surgeon community,” commented Dave.

As part of the collaboration, FCACS member surgeons will receive access to C-SATS learning Academy and Community. Members will also be able upgrade their subscription to the ADVANCED level, at a discounted price. The ADVANCED level includes the ability to securely capture surgical videos from laparoscopic or robotic towers and access data in a personalized video library. Together FCACS and C-SATS intend to elevate the learning experience for surgeons in the Florida region and provide a blueprint for how society and industry partnerships can improve care delivery.
